Glass Prints Series
In the glass prints series, I play with morphing objects and subjects. For example, in Choose your Shoes I painted each shoe on a separate glass pane. Different backgrounds are created on separate glass pieces. Using a photographic process, the images are layered, edited, assembled, and eventually printed on glass. Each glass print is unique because it will never be reproduced with the same layers.
Generally, most of my paintings are figurative or abstract. In the glass print series, I asked myself how I could use everyday objects to create unusual subjects (a cheese turns into a shoe, a boat becomes a hat).
My intention is to find humor in common objects. I hope to make my audience smile and have them think about regular objects in new ways.
